I’ve been searching for the perfect morning routine for quite some time and think I've finally found it *crosses finger*.
I recently read that 80 % of people are most productive in the morning, and I’m definitely one of those. After a night’s sleep all the things that stressed me out in the evening don't feel so heavy in the morning and I can think and focus much clearer.
I start my mornings by making myself a good breakfast, usually involving a good slice of toasted bread with some cream cheese and a nice warm latte. I usually get really warm and sweat a lot during nights so i also drink at least 1-2 glasses of water at breakfast.
Then I put on one of my comfy sweaters and take out my laptop and start going through all kinds of "admin" tasks.
I reply to emails and work on projects and plans, write content and blog posts and sometimes do some research etc. I often do this while listening to music as it helps me shut out the rest of the world. I like to feel like it’s just me in a bubble doing my things.
After 1-3 hours of this (and possibly after another latte or two :P) I usually jump in the shower and get dressed. I take time putting on make up and choosing a nice outfit because it really makes a difference in how I’ll feel the rest of the day.
I’ve tried some mornings to switch it around and first take a shower and get ready and then sit down with my laptop. It works ok in that order too, but I feel I get much more stuff done when I immediately start with the writing tasks.
I'm definitely happy with my new found morning routine, next step is to try to wake up the same time every morning. Most mornings I succeed but then there are those loooong morning spent in bed that just make the rest of the day crumble :)
