Unfortunately I was not born with the "morning person" gene, which leaves me in a tricky situation. It seems squeezing in both a slow morning routine and putting on make up becomes nearly mission impossible, yet I don't want to sacrifice either. I want to be able to spend the majority of my morning eating breakfast in my PJ.s, but also look pretty and feel confident for the rest of the day.
While I've finally abandoned my long time childhood plan of becoming a Disney princess where birds would comb my hair as I danced around in the kitchen in the morning, I've now found a few more contemporary ways of getting that fairytale glow instead. So I present to you my 6 favorite non-fuss-does-what-it-says-on-the-label beauty products for the slowpokes out there (non of this is sponsored).
Ok, so eyeliner might not be the obvious make up choice when you're in a hurry, but I promise it is so worth it. I've recently started wearing it again as part of my everyday routine and it gives me such a confidence boost and honestly just makes me feel really cool.
Even though the wings of my cat eyes might not always be perfect I don't care because I like that I put in some effort and that makes me feel good. I've had this Guerlain liquid eyeliner sitting on my bathroom shelf for a long time and it still works, that gets points in my beauty book.
When i go skin care shopping I never really know if my skin is the oily or dry kind. I feel it totally depends on the season and whichever cleansing gel I use. I've solved this conundrum by always having these two moisturizers in my beauty closet, they keep me prepared for whatever snow storm weather or cheap hotel soap my skin might encounter.
For dry moments I use the E Vitamin series from Body Shop, it has a really nice and rich texture and one jar lasts a very long time, so it's super good value worth for the money. The other one is Dr. Hauschkas Rose Day Cream Light and I love the smell of it and how luxurious it makes me feel. It's one one of those things I have on auto repeat on my Xmas wish list from my Mom (she always buys one for me and my sis :))
Sometimes wearing a bright colored lipstick is really all you need to go from feeling meh to ta-da! Like with carrot juice and granola, lipstick is also something I tend to get excited about periodically. it's not always part of the make up routine, but every now and then it pops in there and the comeback is always very strong.
All my favorite lipsticks are from & other stories, it might be because I'm super in love with the minimalist design but they also are just really easy to apply and stick on for a long time.
This concealer from H&M is super easy to use and I really like the texture and consistency of it, and it's from H&M!
I got this tip from my sister who is really active in a bunch of Facebook beauty groups, and if there's something I won't be spending a lot of money on anymore when it comes to make up it's concealer. This one does the job perfectly, and I found a shade that fits my "not quite ripe banana peel yellow" tinted skin just perfectly :D
Last, but not least, it is nice to step out into the world smelling nice. I find that the whole perfume thing can get a little overwhelming at times, and for those moments I like to dab on a little sprinkle of body mist. This Fleur de Mimosa Body Mist from & other stories is one of my favorites, I've had the same series of scented soap and body scrub (the scrub ran out really quickly because I caught my boyfriends using it everyday haha).
